Whittier Alaska, Day trip with Alaska’s Fresh Tracks

Life long Alaskan Joe Matteson and wife Julie had her mother Chris up from CA. for a short visit. They planned on their first visit to Whittier Alaska to experience for themselves  Prince William Sound’s Blackstone Glacier aboard the Kenai Star.
Just over a hour from Anchorage you must enter the town of Whittier through the Alaska Railroads 2.5 Anton Anderson’s tunnel a trill in itself. We had fantastic views of glacier after glacier, millions of acres of  forest some Sea otters and all the time being narrated by a Park Ranger. The sea’s were very calm, the sky was slightly overcast which brought out the deep blues of the glacier’s, the ship was not over crowed so you had plenty of room to roam. After the 4.5 hour Major Marine Tour we found a nice spot in the harbor to pull out the grill and to pop the corks on the champagne with the rest of their family.
